Oppo 83 SE Question
My question is about sound reproduction, not video.
I understand that the enhanced SE audio applies both to the 2 RCA stereo outputs and the 7 RCA home theater outputs. The SE will be connected to a 15 year old Pioneer Elite amplifier/receiver. I have a 5.1 configuration. I listen to CDs and watch DVD movies. I don't want to buy too many interconnect cables in order to enjoy the enhanced sound while listening to CDs and watching DVD movies. When listening to CDs, can I receive the same enhanced sound through the home theater outputs or must I also purchase another pair of interconnects just for the 2 RCA stereo outputs. Thank you |

I do not know the answer to the question of whether the SE applies to both stereo and HT outputs although I suspect it is only on the stereo output pair.
However, there's no reason to purchase any more cables. Just use the stereo output pair instead of the LF/RF output pair from the HT set or, to say it another way, just use the stereo output pair along with the C, LFE, LS and RS output pair from the HT set. On other Oppos, the analog stereos output is the one with the enhanced sound, not the HT. I have an Oppo 83SE, but I haven't used it in years.
