Use the sumiko method. Start with one speaker only, play a heavy bass track and drag the speaker out from the back wall until it couples with the room – this will give you the best low frequency response. Next put on some good vocal music with a strong center image, then drag the second speaker out from the back wall until you have a clearly focused center image (it is kind of like focusing a projector). In my room I need to have one speaker out 6 in more than the other for a proper center image. Centimeters can make a difference

The like to be raked back a bit. Start with the floor base as level and then rake them back until the drivers sound properly blended from the listening spot. I have mine toed in rather than straight on

ruffoc.......Thank you for the lesson. I had not heard of the Sumiko method before. I am always looking for new information, especially useful information like this. I will give this method a try.

I've had guys trained by Sumiko come to the house and set up a few pairs of speakers for me, end result has been positive.
