Not for communist countries. NO.

It has changed since the days of yellow journalism came to be here. News used to be much less opinionated as far as I recall. It is rather clear, at least to me, that the bias hooks are set much deeper as the news is now not only reporting on the news but does the thinking for us. At least that's my opinion on it. Even the nightly entertainment is no longer a comedy but a constant reminder of where your allegiance should be. I'm saying that without any political inclinations as we all know it spans both sides.

A friend of my texted me that she might need new wiper blades for her car and the next morning she got an Amazon suggestion to buy blades. Seems that it's more than a coincidence.

There are no coincidences when it comes to Big Data Analytics and more recently the addition of machine-learning models

A few times I actually noticed that I was thinking about things I needed to order but did not search yet on Amazon. A reverse pair of pliers and a smooth jaw adjustable wrench. Next time was birdseed... Yep, they did pop up on the amazon screen a short time later. I’m still chalking that one off as a pure coincidence... otherwise I don’t even know how to wrap my mind around all of this.

I agree with pretty much all your post. Your private stuff is no longer your private stuff.

But, how did the typed reply to my friend suddenly appear?

That's even creepier.

I've never heard of such thing but that doesn't mean these cases do not exist... Weird indeed. What product/operating system was this? Android? Apple?

Was texting with a friend about Omega watches yesterday. I found ads in my mailbox (email), on social media platforms as well as Amazon today. Not even funny anymore...
