Jim.......How many hours do you have on the MCD1100 now. Have you noticed any changes in the sound as the hours accumulate?

Dan

I would say I have about 80 hours of listening on it. It is going to take some more time for me to try and detail what I am or am not hearing. The issue is at the same time I added the 1100 I upgraded some interconnects, removed then put back the PPP' on my amps, added then removed the PPP's from my pre/sources/and MEN-220, switched over to Wireworld digital cables and added an eighth Reference Power Cord to my system.

Here lies the real issue. Unless you have the units all hooked up at the same time so you can quickly swap back and forth, you probably would be hard pressed to walk in the room and say which one was playing. I can tell you the D-07 was better than the MCD-500 when A/B'd. The MCD-1100 was preferred to the D-07 when A/B'd. Now if you asked me today what is it I hear that makes the 1100 sound better I couldn't pick it out.

Jim.......Wow, you've been busy with your gear. I remember you saying the D-07 had the edge on the MCD500. At this level the differences can be subtle with some recordings, and quite apparent with others. Since I'll still have at least one of my MCD500's when the MCD1100 is here, I will get the opportunity to compare the two. It will be interesting to hear any difference with the output of the MS750. That is the component that gets the most duty as a source. It will also be enlightening to put the MCD500 and the MCD1100 head to head, with same cables through the same preamp. I am looking forward to the experience.

Yes, those are Adona racks. I have been toying with the idea of moving up to their Reference line but packing and shipping my current racks is not something I find enticing.

Thanks, I look forward also, as a former MCD500n owner.

Default MCD1100 remote control repalcement

Has anybody experienced this problem with their HR065 remote control which came with MCD1100 SACD player ? Mine has become very sticky a bit like a 5 year old has been eating sweets (I think that’s “cookies” across the pond) and put it’s hands all over it. It’s horrible to use now. Surprised Mcintosh made it in this horrible rubber material. (My MA8000 integrated amp came with a nice hard plastic finish). Does anybody know if there’s a remote replacement available in a better quality material ?
