Default Need Good 4K HDMI 30-35ft long cable.. Recomendations?

Hi,

2 years ago I ran 4 HDMI 4K cables in my listening/home cinema room and I am afraid it is far from the final word in terms of quality. In 1080i on my projector, everything is fine but when I hit 1080P I get some stuttering. They get the job done but I would prefer upgrade to something better. Right now, everything is drywalled and painted but I haven't installed the crown molding yet. Silly me, I didn't think to run a plastic pipe in wall/ceiling for future cable upgrades. I can cut the drywall behind where the crown molding will be installed as I know the connectors of the cable will have difficulties to run thru the holes I made in the studs (will fix that when I open up the wall). See picture, 2 HDMI cables are on the right). I have 2 other runs on the side of the room as well. I will only run 2 cables instead of 4. 1 in front of the room, one on the side.

Here are the cables I purchased.
https://www.infinitecables.com/hdmi/...premium-cable/

Big question, what would be considered high quality HDMI cables in term of image quality and speed? I need long runs of 30 and 35 feet. Also, it is prefered that they are thin in size with a small connector. I wish they have the best features as to be "future proof" as long as possible in 4K. My projector is a Panasonic PT-AE8000 1080P. In 2 or 3 years I plan to upgrade to 4K.

Thanks,

I used HDMI to CAT6 transmitters and CAT6 to HDMI receivers from Lumagen when I built my 18x30 theater room. I had fantastic quality video from the JVC projector. Were they absolutely necessary? I have no idea but I didn't want to take chances running HDMI cables over 15 feet.

Here is what the no-nonsense guys have to say about it. http://www.bluejeanscable.com/articl...n-hdmi-run.htm

Sorry Cat6 cable and that Blue Jean article is obsolete. Running 4K over long distances is a whole new ball game.

Kordz has a really good DPSLabs tested optical HDMI active for up to 30m.

Should have a series of HDMI 2.1 48Gbps rated ones soon. Better have some investment protection if you are planning now.

I used for 1 installation a cl3 rated cable from AudioQuest, the Cinnamon 8.0m (26.2 ft.) HDMI Cable.

I think that the cable 1 notch down would be ok too, but I think the silver content and for a long run I would go with at least this level cable. That is what I did and it has great video on 4k from the Oppo player.

I was thinking about sound too, but since the Oppo has that 2nd HDMI and of course all the rca and xlr connections I use them for audio, and I know I use a 2 meter wireworld HDMI I got from Ivan, I think I have a silver for the audio to the MX150. Hope that helps, but I think that the AudioQuest Cinnamon 8.0m (26.2 ft.) HDMI Cableshould fit the bill for you.

I spoke with their tech guys, pretty knowledgeable and very helpful.

The current HDMI 2.0 standard covers 4K 60 Hz 4:4:4 HDR and has a bandwidth of 18 GHz. Cables 30’ long that meet this standard are mostly active, with a few passive cables that may or may not work in your installation.

HDMI 2.1 is the latest standard covering 8K 120 Hz and above. The 48 GHz bandwidth requirement for this newer standard will mean active cables for you.

If you are not now getting good HDMI performance at 1080p then your cables don’t meet the standard.

I am running HDMI 2.0 active cables with my current 4K projector and they work well, but I had to try several brands before I got one that worked well. I am at 35’.

+1 on what Dave said, I did the exact same thing, went with an Audioquest Cinnamon HDMI through a wall/ceiling, no problems whatsoever.

Another option would be RUIPRO fiber optic HDMI cables. Multiple reviews are readily available online. They are available in lengths up to 50 feet. I am using a 40-foot length purchased from Amazon with excellent results.

“We get quite a few calls about long HDMI runs for homes or commercial A/V systems. One of the newest and best-performing solutions is Celerity Technologies' fiber optic HDMI cables. These high-tech cables deliver outstanding picture and sound quality, even with full 4K content, at distances up to 1,000 feet — far beyond the reach of conventional copper-based cables.”

Celerity cables work by converting electrical HDMI data into optical signals inside the fiber optic HDMI connectors. The signals are converted back to an electrical HDMI data stream at the connection to your TV or projector. Since the cable is fiber optic, there's no signal loss, even over long runs, and it's immune to interference from appliances, wireless devices, and computers.

Your picture shows that this will be an in-wall installation. Therefore you want the best possible cable thinking about future proofing.

The link below shows a cable has been recommended by many folks at other video forums.

Fiber HDMI Cable RUIPRO 4K60HZ 33... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XGDFCSC...p_mob_ap_share

You will notice that it is a fiber cable. They come in different lengths. I am not sure if it is acceptable for in-wall installation though.
