24 hours later (leaving everything on) the alpha nr v2 feeding my power distributor (everything) - amazing! i bought a HD version of Marvin Gaye's famous record ages ago. barely listened to it because it sounded so dead. i heard it this morning as i have been endlessly playing on random to settle things in.
it was marvellous! the cool thing about the cable is not the "i've never heard that before" it is more a "i really want to listen to this". and it is not subtle. i cannot wait for the sigma xc. i haven't measured yet but it seems to me there is more donk in the badonk and less bloom in a boom. by which i mean less pronounced 40-60 hz i think and stronger louder from 100-300 hz. drum skins sound palpable. |

ok just to round this out then i have the au8 in for almost a month now i guess and sigma xc about a week, alpha nr v2 about a f/n.
it is very good. but the biggest surprise for me has been today, when i plugged DAC into alpha v2 just to see what would happen. it was a very big difference. it sounded pretty special actually. thought i was done and i was happy, but reapplying best cords to more upstream locations made it really improve. alpha v2 is special on my DAVE, even relative to Alpha NR v1. |
