Default Mct450

Hi all, has anyone else experienced cutouts of music while playback of
Sacd discs. My Mct450 plays regular cd's with zero problems but I have
never got thru a whole sacd without at least a very brief cutout. The cutout
is less than a second. I have about 20 sacd's all brand new. I did contact
McIntosh and they said something about a floating ground. I have my equipment
plugged into two 20 amp dedicated ground same phase plugs. I am not
floating the ground to the best of my knowledge. Thanks

Sea Music - I have the MCT450 and DAC150 and have never had an issue with my SACDs. I have probably played at various times 35 - 40 through it since bought.

Hi Dan, I am using the c2600 and before that the c47. I am using the dedicated Mcintosh cord that came with the Mct450 I do have those both plugged into
a tributaries power conditioner and then into the dedicated lines. Every component has
a three prong plug and are Shunyata research.

Miner- thanks it is good to know it is not systemic.

Paul.......It might be an intermittent issue with the connection at the MCD450 or the C2600. Just guessing, of course, but try disconnecting the cable from both the transport and the preamplifier, then reconnect it after turning everything off. You might get lucky.

A disc drive transplant is likely required. I had an MCD500 with a similar issue with SACD's and that rectified the problem. My dealer performed the swap under warranty.

Hope this helps.

I’ve been dealing with Chuck from Macintosh on and off for last year dealing with this issue. He is sending me a new MCT cable so let’s see if that resolves the problem. I’ll post results as soon as I am able to test worth the new cable.
