Randy.......Thank you. I am in the studio enjoying the Aurender N10. It has been playing continuously for the past 30 hours. I am floored at just how good this music server sounds with so few hours on it. Right now I am listening to Christy Baron - Retrospective, a 24Bit/96KHz HDTracks download. Christy is in the room. Just amazing.

Dan,
How is the transfer process handled? Since no loading slot for CDs what is required for loading music?

Kevin

Kevin.......I used the ripping software dBpoweramp to rip bit perfect flac copies of my CD's that I stored on a 1TB hard drive. Once the ripping was complete I connected with the Aurender through the network connection by typing in its IP address and clicking on the #1 hard drive. This opens a window with five folders on the Aurender's hard drive, which you can rename if you wish. Then in another window I opened the music folder on the 1TB hard drive in my office computer and simply dragged and dropped the music files to the the folders on the N10 hard drive. It is easy as pie.

I'm listening to the Aurender N10 right now. It sounds soooooo good. I now have 57 hours of break-in on it. I am shooting for 150 hours before I get into critical listening and comparing the N10 against the Esoteric K-03 transport playback and my laptop to the DAC. Should be interesting.

Dan - congrats on the N10. It looks gorgeous with the Esoteric.
Looking forward to your review.
Quick question. Did you ever stream music from Tidal before the N10?
If yes, have you heard any initial differences?

Mark.......I did not stream any music from Tidal before the Aurender N10 was installed. I streamed Deezer through my Sonos zone players at 16/44.1. What I found with Deezer is I have to use the Sonos remote to access the music and it is a bit of a chore searching for something in particular. Consequently I rarely listened to Deezer. I just canceled my subscription to Deezer when I subscribed to Tidal. With Tidal accessible directly from the Aurender Conductor app with a single tap, and cover art displayed identical to Aurenders arrangement, listening to music on Tidal is convenient. The sound quality of Tidal through the N10 is superior to the sound quality of Deezer through the Sonos.

David.......Thank you. I can see where Tidal could easily supplement or slow down CD purchases. It is quite a resource. Their 16Bit/44.1KHz streaming sounds very good.

I have not seen any instructions in the Aurender N10 manual or elsewhere that shows Roon being used with Aurender products. I don't really see the purpose of paying a subscription fee to use their app. The Aurender Conductor app is sophisticated, well implemented, and intuitive to use. It provides me with multiple levels of control over my music library and looks super on the iPad.

Congratulations on the Aurender Dan. I really wanted one but settled for a Bryston BDP-2. Maybe someday...
I'm curious what type of digital connection/cable you are using from the Aurender to the K-03? In my system I found this has a significant impact on sound. I tried several cables and ended up with a Wireworld Gold SPDIF coax cable from my BDP-2 to K-03.
