The Harbeth M30.2 40th are fantastic speakers, I’m listening to a pair right now but I doubt they will sound balanced in a 10x13 room since I tried them in a 12x15 room and moved them to a 26x31 room where they effortlessly fill the room with smooth and tonally balanced response.

Default Matching speakers to MC75 mono blocks

I don't know why you bring this up because you are comparing apples to oranges. You can't judge the twenty series or the twenty5 series based upon the TB2. The PMC TB2 is a completely different design than the twenty series. For instance: the TB2 is rear ported instead of front ported; the TB2 cabinet is vertical verses being slanted; and the TB2 drivers are different. They don't sound similar in the slightest way and shouldn't be considered as a comparison. I know because the TB2 was one that I tried and I too thought it sounded horrible. Your logic implies that driving a Ford Escort would tell you what it's like to drive a Ford Mustang based only upon the fact that it’s the same brand.

This is true.

I'm currently talking to a seller in regard to the Dynaudio Confidence C1 Platinum. He says I can bring my amps over and is promising "no pressure", but again I'm a little worried these might be too big for my small room. I should just take over the living room in the house and kick the rest of the family out

I left the living room alone so my wife can have peace and her own decorating ideas unspoiled by my gear. The basement is all mine though.

I’m getting a pair of Harbeth P3ESR in Rosewood for the 12x15 room. They sound bigger than they are and the midrange is tough to beat in this price range. The bottom end can be helped with a small sub and at least one has control over the bass with a sub vs a speaker too big for the room!

Dude. Don’t worry! Your 13 x 10 ft room will be fine. I think the Dynaudio C1 Platinum would be an excellent choice for your room. In fact, I owned original C1 speakers and used them in a 12 x 11 ft room with a pair(!) of REL B2 subs and I had no bass overload issues. I powered the Dyns with McIntosh too, first a pair of MC2102 tube amps and then MC501 solid state amps. Small rooms like yours and my old room will compress and become “painful” when the SPLs are pushed hard but I enjoyed that room for years and anything other than head banging volumes sounded wonderful. I also squeezed Wilson Sophia 3 speakers in there and they sounded outstanding. It’s all relative. This is the room you are already accustomed to with your 805S and you know the limitations you will have and what is already acceptable for you. The Contour 20 would also be an excellent choice staying in the Dynaudio family. Good luck in your search

YouTube can often be useful to gauge the “scale” and “character” of speakers if not exactly useful in tonal qualities since everything sounds lean and thin on YouTube but none the less, one can get an idea how a speaker works in different acoustical spaces. Here is P3ESR https://youtu.be/8AaAqKur1Sw

Serge I have been living with 2 pairs of P3ESR during near 3 years. They are really great speakers. Just DO NOT listen next to them to the Falcon LS3/5a 15 ohms or the Stirling V2. When I did, I sold my 2 pairs of P3ESR ! these 2 pairs of 3/5a outperformed the P3 in all fields.

Jerome, I don't want to hijack this thread so I will create a separate thread where we can discuss Harbeth and Falcon shortly.

To the OP, good luck in your quest for speakers.

Great minds think alike. Did the same thing 20yr ago. Her 'all-in-1" Yamaha and matching speakers do it for her in LR and that's a good thing.

To the OP, the Canton Reference 9Ks are really opening up and smoothing out after a couple of days of play. Enough so that I can hardily recommend them. They are singing very sweetly with my 90wpc Accuphase and cannot imagine that they would not do so with your 90wpc MC75s (rated at 75wpc, but actually make 90wpc).

Some good tips on here. Thanks guys. Leaning towards the Dynaudio C1 Platinum (used) at the moment. My system seems to have fallen together when decent used Mac gear appears locally. I'll be more patient with the speakers and bide my time.

No problem discussing Harbeth and Falcon on this thread
