I had a broken glass on an MS300 coming back from panurgy. It was in the factory box but someone put some styrofoam in front of the glass. That doesn't allow the unit to move and be held in place by the feet instead of the glass.
In regards to this unit from eBay, I would recommend that the buyer tell the seller to have a factory box shipped to him, he can put the unit in the box and have the seller do a pickup. The unit needs to go back to McIntosh or Audio Classics. In my experience, the turn around time at Audio Classics is much faster. Who knows, they may even have someone who runs over to the factory and makes the parts, lol.

Welcome to AA!

This is a reminder that not everyone out there has a lot of common sense.

I'm glad the seller is being reasonable. If it were me, I'd obtain my refund and put it on the seller to get the unit boxed up and returned "as is".

I'm thinking the buyer has been inconvenienced enough so far.

My first Mcintosh purchase was an Mc2200, that was shipped in a single box, surrounded by inflated plastic. Guess what happened next?

Simple (but not cheap) to purchase original packing & boxes from AC or the factory. When I purchase McIntosh gear, if the seller does not have the correct boxes I'll send him same. If he doesn't want to do so, no sale.

BTW - the MA7900 has a listed weight of 75#, not 120+.
