I known there is possible to add a second power amp based on the documentation but this not my objective.
lukou.......Welcome to Audio Aficionado.

Yes, you can connect the C2300 RCA outputs (OUTPUT - MAIN) to the Amplifier Inputs on the MAC6700. All you need to do is remove the preamp to amp jumpers on the MAC6700, then make your connections to the Amp inputs.

Hey..tonight for the first time I hooked up a USB cable from my MacBook Pro using Audirvana Plus.

Sounded awesome BTW. Basically the only way I was able to play back is whatever is native on the source the c2600 displayed it. 44/48/96 etc...Sounded a little more crisp if you will than the same files played through the Sony HAP 1ZES.

However I wanted to change the settings as its shown in the manual. I wasn't able to do any changes to the USB input.

I was interested in seeing how it sounded with the C2600 upsampling to a higher resolution. But wasn't able to.

The attached pic from the manual I can't seem to find...

thoughts?

Timobi-

Having just tried Audirvana as a demo, I am not familiar with the nuances of its settings.

You can manually change settings using the MIDI app in your Mac's OS. This will permit you to upsample as you wish. The readout of your 2600 should then display the up sampled rate.

Thanks for your answer.
Just to clarify. Do I have to put the C2300 outputs main to the "1" or "PWR AMP" input of the MAC6700 after having removed the jumpers ? For me It should be the "PWR AMP" connectors.

Ok...the Macbook Pro with Audirvana Plus software using the c2600 DAC (USB) is indeed a better sound than through the Sony HAP 1ZES.

Kind of surprised me. Its not a huge gap but using the c2600 DAC produces a crisper sound with more air. Again the Sony is no chump but I can hear the differences in my gear.

So question. The reason I bought the HAP was to avoid having my laptop around my McIntosh gear.

So what do people do to have a clean setup. Just leave the MacBook near the C2600?

That's probably a discussion under a Computer Audio forum. But just wanted to report back that the DAC in this preamp is really really GREAT.

I have Sony HAP, too and went thru the same experiment with my pc... the result was same as Timobi's. C2600 DAC delivers better sound than Sony . Now I listen some of music thru USB even though I spent lots of time transfer music files from pic to Sony.

I carry my laptop (a Surface Book with JRiver) between the two different rooms and simply plug in the USB connector.

Gosh me too! Like its SLOW....I will say this. Last night I sampled DSD files. The gap is smaller. The Sony HAP does DSD very well. But still a slightly more open and detailed sound thru the c2600 DAC.

what I liked about the c2600 DAC is the detail but without the harshness that is often a component with detail and "air"...

I went back and forth. My girlfriend came over. Did some blind testing. It was close but each time she picked the c2600. Not huge but its there.

I switched to a MacMini, Audirvana, and use a Drobo thunderbolt drive. My Mac mini actually lives on the other side of the wall from my components. Since I built everything in, it was easy enough. They make a host of wall mounting solutions for the Mac, so it was easy to mount, too. I just fished the USB through a short, digital only conduit. I've also mounted my network and an Apple TV in the same way.
