I set a Shunyata CGS10 ground cable from one of the clock's chassi screws to the Denali as well. I use a HDPLEX 300W LPSU to power the ER and Clock.

Crion2, thanks for the link. It looks like its going to be a while as the UpTone EtherRegen is back order until mid March. In the meantime I will get everything else on order.

I also have a HDPlex LPS that I’am using for my Legacy Audio Wavelet, Roon Nucleus+, and my McIntosh MT 5 turntable with great results.

I think I’m going to get a SR Omega Ethernet for the Roon Nucleus+ and put a Sigma on the Mx170 and AppleTV. The Sigma may be overkill not sure if the Alpha would be just fine?

Thanks in advance for your help on the setup, can’t wait to get it in my system to see what it would will do. I’ll keep you in loop as the progress goes on.

Sigma is great on appletv as it squashes noise benevolently.

Mx170 I don’t see the point other than it might affect the groundplane, but you have no audiopackets going there.

An Acousence GISO-GB galvanic isolator or Acoustic Revive RLI-1 LAN Isolator can protect your gear from noise much like the pond between the A and B-side of the ER but without the fancy reclocking etc. You could use one of those devices inbetween the MX170 and the A side of the uptone ER if you are really paranoid about noise getting on the groundplane of your MX170.

Just a quick update, I have had the SR Omega XC from the wall to the Everest for about a hundred hours now. It replaced a SR Sigma XC which is now used on on my Denali 6000s V2 for my source components. Every time I have upgraded the SR power cables I just can’t believe what it has done for my system. Going from the the Sigma XC to the Omega XC just made everything sound more real, the soundstage is taller and wider with a larger soundstage, the music plays more effortlessly. You would swear that Patricia Barber is playing the room.

I know that the Omega XC power cable is very expensive, almost the price of the Everest power conditioner, but if own a Everest and have the opportunity to demo a Omega XC you will be truly amazed on what it can do for you system.

Crion2, it looks like the 10 mhz clock from aliexpress is no longer available, do you know of a replacement that is 75 ohm. I also looked at the Teac CG-10M but it looks like it only offers BNC 50 ohm connectors. I have found a few Mutec Ref-10 for sale at a good price, they seem to be rated very well, but they are the most expensive of the three in my post.

Check that they are squarewave and 75 Ohm output to avoid adapters with ER.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated, and would going with a Cybershaft clock be considered overkill for a EtherRegen?

If you take the prices on www.cybershaft.jp and plug them into www.oand.com 's currecy converter that will give you today's price adjusted to USD. PayPal thru which the purchase would flow may also have a calculator.

Definitely not overkill, nor would the REF10 be....

Are you clocking something else, too? I wouldn't buy a clock just for the etherregen...

2fastdriving, I was under the impression, that adding a external clock would be a big benefit on the EtherRegen.

I would only be using the clocking for one my Roon Nucleus+, which I stream my Qobuz and Tidal music services. My Roon is fed via a Shunyata Research Omega USB to my McIntosh C523 preamplifier.

Are you suggesting by adding a external clock that I will not hear any benefits to using the internal clock on the EtherRegen? I would appreciate your thoughts on this setup.

Well...I doubt it, but everyone's system is different. I have a clocked etherregen, and I've never tried it without the clock input turned on. I guess I could.

But I will say, adding the etherRegen wasn't exactly mind blowing. I don't believe it was a huge difference in my case, and so I doubt that clocking vs unclocking is a big difference.

A clock costs many thousands of dollars (usually...) so I wouldn't buy one just for the small benefit of using with this ethernet switch. I'd only buy one for use with a DAC and potentially a transport or switch, etc as a secondary need. This is what I'm doing, personally. The clock has made a very nice improvement for my DAC (I've had a few actually).
