They made 35 more Strads. to celebrate the 35 year anniversary which says something, very special speakers.

I'm very glad you found a pair locally when we were talking. It might have taken a while, and several speaker changes, to realize what I had, but I would have been on the hunt for another pair.
The clincher was on Sunday night. I replaced my C-1100 with a VAC Master line stage, and my jaw hit the floor. I could not believe that they could sound much better, but they lack nothing with the right setup. Unfortunately, it is only on loan, but speakers have been taken off the upgrade list! Now I just need to figure out what I can sell to facilitate a new pre-amp!

Don't get me wrong, the C-1100 is a great pre amp, but at twice the price, the VAC is most certainly a step up. Spooky good!

Rob, don't get me thinking of another preamp. I am going to see my mom this weekend next to their factory in Sarasota. VAC makes great amps and preamps.

Rob, Nice to know that whatever you throw at the Strads you will hear the improvement.
I noticed that when i went to Accuphase from ASR. I would say that's the definition of a great design.
One that grow's along with you and you don't have worry about whether or not it's the weak link.
