Smile Recommend a Cable for me

I recently purchased a Samsung 40" LED TV and I need a cable recommendation. Yes, I finally got rid of that 20" crt.

What I need is a 1/8" Mini Plug to Dual RCA's. I believe they are called a "ipod cable" also. The mini plug will go from the "audio out" of the TV to the "aux" of my C50. I got a real cheapie version I'm using now and would like something with a little better quality. I believe this is the only option I have since the TV does not have RCA's audio out, but it does a optical out but no optical in on my C50.

I have a pair of AQ Component Video Cable which I found to be very tight gripping on the RCA end, so I will stay away from AQ.

The length of cable of course will depend on if I want to mount the TV on the wall with all cables within the wall or on my rack.

Here's a couple of examples and choices I have or if you have any.....The Audience cable seems to be very stiff at the mini plug end which will probably stick out beyond the TV. A side-mounted mini plug might be the answer?

Just a suggestion...pick up a couple different lengths of the cables that you need from monoprice.com. They are cheap & will allow you to try different location placements of your TV.

Once you determine the exact TV location...then have a cable made for the exact length from whatever cable brand you decide on.

'cisco.......Your C50 has two optical inputs, Digi 1 and Digi 2.

C50-looks like inputs DIG1 & DIG2 are optical. Why not use one of those...?

Even better idea Dan and Brian! Have to believe digital to analog will be a million times better sounding via the C50 than analog out from the Samsung!

Thanks guys for the input .....I like the optical idea as the way to go... I wasn't quite sure if that would work.

I'll see what I can do to round up a pair (not literary now ) ..... I'll report back.....

I ordered and installed a cheapie optical from Monoprice as suggested by Brian.

1. First experiment I tried the optical cable connecting the "audio optical out" from my LED TV to my C50 Digi 1 input using the "Server" as the source. It reads "48K" on my info display of my C50.

2. Second experiment I tried the "OC" connecting to the "audio out" from my Sonos ZP90 to my C50 Digi 1 input using the "Server" as the source. It reads 44.1 on my info display on my C50.

I think I will order a better OC as soon as I figure out if the TV will be hanging or on top of my rack...possibly a WW. Any other suggestions from you guys?

Thanks again for the great input guys.....always learning everyday and AA is the best.

Thanks Dario......Thanks to Jingo for having an extra one lying around.

ooops....I spoke to soon about it working properly....

When I tune into the "ION" station (channel 46-1 over here)....I believe it's a digital station without having to use a digital box.....I get no sound. I get the words "NON PCM". Back to the 1/8" Mini Plug to Dual RCA's.

Any suggestions guys? Which is better...using RCA's connecting from my C50 to my ZP90 or an optical cable?
