Default Transparent vs. MIT

I am considering some speaker and interconnect changes in the near future for better synergy with my system. Most likely I will use cables with network boxes as I have had positive prior experience with the MIT products.

I also want to consider Transparent cables as I know there are a lot of very happy owners of this product.

So if anyone has experience with Transparent and has perhaps compared MIT as well that would be very helpful feedback. I plan on trying to do doing in home demo's, but I do not have a Transparent dealer that is very close to me.

Transparent has always sounded more musical, smooth and natural to me as compared to MIT which can sound a bit too "tweaky" and "hi-fi'ish"... Of course you ultimately should use your own ears and your own system to decide. Transparent has an offer now where you can try their cables and return them if they don't work out. You can always "borrow" MIT cables from the "cable company" library to compare.

Serge,

Thank you for the feedback. This is very helpful and mirrors my experience while listening to a system with Transparent cable in an extended dealer demonstration.

I am trying to get a feeling for others experience with these products prior to my own comparison.

I like Transparent interconnect and speaker cables.
But for Reference Digital AESEBU and AC cord Powerlink MM2. I've found some cheaper
cables that can do better. Powerlink MM2 provides strong bass impact, great dynamic, but
mid and high was not the smoothest.. The Reference Digital too, it has great deep bass impact but mid and high is not that outstanding. I use Oyaide pure silver FTVS-910 AES EBU and like it more. For power cord I use MIT Oracle AC2 and like it more than TR PowerlinkMM2.

For me the Transparent stuff doesn't sound transparent at all.
It seems slow and slightly muted.

I've owned both, MIT V2.1 and Transparent Ref MM1. TA gets the nod from me.

I was a Transparent user for many years but for me MIT is the best option
because you can change the impedance on the fly

I can't say that I like the idea of a switch in the ckt, which can degrade over time. I do like the idea of a tuned or impedance matching cable. MIT and Transparent offer that. However, only TA matches to my gear specifically, which, to me, is a higher level of customization - with no switches. Doesn't MIT impedance match to a range?
