2.0 golf r mods
Hi,
Anyone dabbled in extracting more vavoom from their r? If yes, what did you do and how did you feel about the results?

I don't actually have a Golf R, but have done many modifications on other VW/Audi vehicles. I had a 2004 R32 way back in the day that I did a lot to (suspension, exhaust, even put a turbo on it) and currently have a 2012 Audi S4 with intake, exhaust, ECU tune and smaller supercharger pulley.
As far as extracting more power very reliably you can check with options from APR. They have modest ECU tunes that include a powertrain warranty from them, on up to big turbo kits, exhausts, and lots of other stuff. APR Golf R page If I had one, I would start off slow with an aftermarket intake and an ECU tune. From there you can decide how far up the ladder to go. |

Check with AWE, these guys are extremely professional and knowledgeable. They did one hell of a job on my 2008 911 Turbo back in the day.

Take a look at Revo. When I had my Passat, I was running their performance re-map software and got nearly a 30% HP boost.
