Dan, thank you for a very well written, and honest review !
I knew when you accepted this challenge, that you would be completely honest and unbiased. I had a gut feeling that you might end up buying an E-03. As I said when this shoot out was about to begin, AA is honored to have the best writer and reviewer on any forum on the internet Mark |

Dan deserves a well deserved break after that review so let me know who at Esoteric to send my address to so I can do an equally thorough comparison of the K 03 and K 01

Great review. I had an X03 for several years. After the 3rd time my Puccini broke, I bought a K03. Mine has about 500 hours on it and is still improving. The problem you will have now (and a problem with this hobby) is that you want one. LOL. I assumed the MCD1100 would be good. I have not heard it, but I figured that the K03 would be better. When I first turned mine on there was no sound. Then I RFM, and realized you had set it up for balanced out LOL. Interesting that you tested it in a McIntosh system and it still outperformed the MCD1100. I wonder sometimes about the "Synergy" issue.
