Default Who doesn’t love a great audio rack

Hoping the title catches your eye, I have a question I am struggling with. Having blown most of my current budget on my components (including cable and power), I have little left for rack and isolation. Having read a ton, and not too many people that I know A/B different rack systems, here is my question:

Is it better to spend very little on a rack (VTI/Pangea/Salamander) and spend a bit on some type of footers (Stillpoints, HRS Nimbus, Isoacoustic)? Or

Spend a bit more on a Timbernation/Mapleshade Samson and skip the footer until i save up?

I think I read that the wood stuff doesn’t really do much for vibrations, just look real nice. It seems to me that you really need to spend over 3-4K on a rack in order to hear an audible difference. Thoughts?

I have owned many many racks over my life. Go with the lessor priced rack and shelves for now and use Stillpoints. I carry Salamander and really don’t even like them, that said they do serve a purpose.

Down the road, if/when you get a better rack you will still be able to use the Stillpoints. This combo, will clearly yield the better sound quality and flexibility in the future.

Adam.......It is understood you meant no harm. It's unfortunate Gail found reason to be offended by your humorous click-bait thread title, but it certainly is not offensive in my opinion. I've seen great racks in lots of places, like on pool tables, a deer, and in audio rooms to name a few. Your title easily conjures up many images beyond the singular one Gail seems to have envisioned. While I can sympathize with her opinion to a degree and believe she is entitled to express that opinion, there was clearly no intent to be offensive or rude on your part. I see no need for apologies or a legitimate reason to delete this thread.

I mean, come on, who doesn't love a great rack. . .

I asked three adult women if they were offended. All three laughed and said absolutely not.

Speaking of great racks, I have long admired the Quadraspire X Reference series audio racks.
