I agree, I can't see even considering the new line without the HTMD1 now in my system...wow what a front soundstage...

The new speakers are pretty interesting. The crossovers and drivers make these sound very different from what you are familiar with. The only visual changes I could see was the cable connections are different and the "bowling ball not longer has the metal-flake look, solid polished black. On the 805's the polished black cabinet looks really nice and it looks a bit smaller than the old unit.

Has anyone paired a HTM1 D3 with their pair of 802 D3s? If used it for audio, did it add depth without a distraction of any lower quality sound when compared to the 802 D3s?

It has the same drivers as the 802D3s, just a different orientation. The HTM1D is an amazing speaker.

I used to own 802D3's along with the HTM1D3. Perfect match.

Still using the HTM1D3 currently

Posted in the wrong thread so here goes....

I have a pair of 804D2 and am planning to get HTM4 D2 as my center. I dont have space bigger than this under my TV so it's either this or perhaps save up for a McIntosh amp in the future when I get the upcoming 803D4.

My speakers are 7 ft apart and my living room is not large. I was advised once that is better to save up as I might not enjoy the full effects of having a center.

Current listening is 65% movies, 35% music

Yes, that is my current setup.

Amazing, but I only use it when listening with the HT, blu-ray, etc, otherwise when using just the 802's with stereo music, the image is so great that you could swear the voices are coming from the htm1d3, really amazing [emoji6].
