jhardy, probably know this already, but you can put your System under User CP -> Settings and Options -> Edit Signature. That way you don't have to manually type it every time.

Hmmmm..... just wondering, how that CV391 Giscours sounds.... I'm close to making a move, and while I want to add an amp, I think a move on the pre-amp might bring a little more bliss...

So any takers out there on the comparison between the 349A Giscours and the CV391 version????

I thought the conclusion reached was Shindo gm70s were going to make a bigger impact?

Freestone,

LOL... What do I know. I can do the one for less than 1/2 the cost of the other... And you know you want my VR!

If the amps make more than 2x the difference than the preamp upgrade then I would wait and do the amps.
If 2x or less then fine
Ask our friend Matt. Steve has already weighed in

Yes, nice preamp! Happy to have a vr.

There are certainly more qualified people to give their opinion, but I do have a gut feeling on this. Assuming your Sophia amp is not a giant slayer, doing the amp first makes more sense to me. Yeah, the Giscours will set you back just half of the 20K Gm70's. However, it would seem to be a better balanced system to do a Shindo amp. In other words, if you get the preamp first, I don't think you're DONE. It's still likely you will want to replace your amp. If you do the amp, you may be just thinking about the music. Cheers !

I would do the amp first. Your VS is already amazing. Get that Shindo amp and complete the combo. 1+1=3. Giscours can wait.

It sounds like you just want to get something today.

But if you do it will take longer to upgrade your amp?

Your pre is so good you need as suggested above to balance out the rest of your system.

Personally I might think of the cortese and then upgrade that to your gm70 if you want partial steps.

But others know much more than I.
