I ground some Starbucks French Roast beans this morning. Very robust flavor. Enjoyed two cups with a fresh cheese danish. Umm, umm good.

Preparation: varies between espresso and French Press. For larger groups I'll get out the 10 cup Krups drip machine. Oh, and the occasional moka.
Of course it's a cappuccino or two in the morning (never after 10AM ;-) ). Because coffee is, after all, a food, freshness counts and so does getting it locally. Now I don't live in Hawaii, but there are some good local roasting houses and I've settled on La Colombe's Nizza whole bean for espresso and espresso based-drinks. I try to get it from the torrefazione itself because the coffee is fresher than what you can get at local retail outposts. A Rancilio Rocky does the grinding, the shots are pulled via a Gaggia classic, and with some luck, I get good enough foam to do a little latte art.

John.......I guess getting your whole beans from La Colombe's Nizza is better than having the Italian Roast hand delivered by La Cosa Nostra.
