It already has, the 800 series starting with the 800N line was a trickle down of the R&D done to produce the Nautilus. The 800 series was a more practical and much more affordable build incorporating the Naultius tech in the mid range and high frequency driver housings (i.e. the tapering tubes) with a more typical bass housing and a passive design unlike the Nautilus which is a 4 way active design.
It would be cool though if B&W offered an active version of the 800 series line (at least for the the 802 and 800) sort of like Bryston does with their Model T. |

It will be "at least a year" before the V2 is replaced, according to my contact at B&W.

I checked with my dealer who is usually well informed. He hadnt heard anything about this and thought it was too soon given the usual time between revamps. So I don't think the story that B&W is telling (whispering, smoke signaling) is true.

Who knows, all I know is I have the green light to pickup my new speakers as a sustainable discount, which will leave their display room empty for a few days. I can't see this store bringing down a reference room if they don't plan on getting something to fill it ASAP.

Probably changing lines?
Spoke to my dealer and their opinion is the current series has a good 2yrs minimum left. Heard nothing from b&w. Enjoy the current series!!! |

Well we have the single report from a dealer selling his demo gear against 3 or 4 dealers who heard nothing and doubt a change is imminent. Any other reports for or against? The dealers-being-told story is pretty easy to check out with a little more crowd sourcing. Ask your dealer. And maybe the original report can be confirmed?

B&W have presented the new 600 serie right now.
I doubt that a brand like B&W come out with the new 600 serie and the new reference line too! The 80xdiamond for me stay as today for a pair of years MINIMAL!!! |

Cool. Any chance they'll bring back the 801?

I upgraded from the N802 to the 802D in 2005 and in 2011 to the 802D2. There was a significant sonic difference (to my ears) from the N802 to the 802D. I can't really say that the move from the 802D to the 802D2 was as significant. Evolutionary more than revolutionary.
Can't wait to hear what they do for the v3. I'll take mine in piano black to change from my usual choice of cherry. I would love for them to bring back the 801 and perhaps do something that ups the ante for their top (non Nautilus) model.
