Default considering a pair of used S5s

A local used audio outlet has a pair of Magico S5s, gloss gray for $17K. I have no way to audition these . They do have a 45 day return policy but shlepping 200 lb speakers back and forth doesn't sound like any fun.

I currently have B&W N802s and a Mac MC-352. Can anyone give me an idea of what the S5s might sound like with the MC352 ? I prefer a warmer sound and am sensitive to bright highs.

EDIT: I also really wish that there was a Magico dealer in Colorado-- I'm kind of surprised that there isn't !

IF you are really keen a 45 day trial is very fair.
No Magico that I have heard has been warm.

Depending on the size of your room I would buy S3Mk1 before I'd buy S5Mk1. Not just because used S3 are likely to be $4k-ish cheaper.

It seems I've also read this same advice regarding the Mk2s ?

EDIT: My room is large, 24x24 with 10-20' ceiling

Buy M3 and be done with it, no more thoughts of upgrade after that.

The S5s should be a good fit for your room, but be aware that their tweeters are not rolled off. (Speaking as an S3 MkII owner, the Mk II version is a little sweeter with its diamond tweeter.)
