I love all my Sigma 1,4 lenses but the Sigma 85 is in a league of its own when it comes to sharpness. This is the conclusion on lenstip.com:
"I imagine Zeiss must gnash their collective teeth quite strongly. They invented the Otus series which was supposed to prove that, for a quite astronomical price, you can produce an optically outstanding lens practically without any flaws. Meanwhile Sigma presented their 85 mm device which is not only able to win a duel with the Otus 1.4/85 in the most important categories but also breaks the resolution record of the Otus 1.4/28 on the sensor of the Canon EOS 5D Mark III. Mind you it is over three times cheaper. Nothing to add I suppose – a fully deserved Lenstip Editor’s Choice award. " |

So true! My favorite is my Fuji f1.2 56mm prime (APS-C). But my most often used is the 18-55mm (APS-C) kit zoom lens.

For me it’s the AF-S 24-120mm f/4G ED VR from Nikon.

Rodenstock 40mm Rodenstock 40mm f/4 HR Digaron-W Lens
This is my favorite lens today. I use it on a Cambo Actus view camera.
I am now a fan of medium format digital cameras. |

On my Fuji XT2/3, my 10-24mm gets the most use with travel. I don’t use the camera for much else except travel. For taking pictures of kids, I prefer the 56mm 1.2.

Olympus Lens
A great lens. Still have the original film version of this lens (24-70/F2.8 Canon L).
For digital, I switched to the micro 4/3 format (Olympus). The equivalent lens is: M.ZUIKO ED 12-40MM F2.8 PRO, which is 24-80mm/F2.8 in full-frame 35mm terms. But less than 1/2 the weight of the L lens...

My ‘always on’ lens for my D-7000 is the 18-200VR II. Great for out and about travel/sightseeing.
