A mint condition MPI4 would cost less and have something genuinely useful, and with far better eye candy appeal, if nothing else.

I'm with vintage tube Bob on this one-

They must have over-produced or screwed up a bunch of CD player cabinet blanks, and some genius came up with this idea to avoid scrapping them.

While I LOVE McIntosh, this seems quite excessive and a total waste of money. No wonder the naysayers make fun of us.

I thought this was a joke, but just logged on to the McIntosh website and it IS for sale!

$1500, I think I'll pass on that...
