Well, I ordered a usb microcope from Amazon. It's was quite reasonably priced, so I'm hoping it works. It's supposed to come with measurement software for Windows applications. See here: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

While I hope to check SRA on my setup, I mainly want it to monitor stylus wear. My DL-304 has been in use now for 5 years, and since it didn't come with an hour meter like my Yamaha outboards, I can guess it must have at least 800 or so hours on it.

This should be interesting.

My USB microscope was finally delivered. Can wait to see what I can see with it tonight.

Well, this if frustrating. It's very hard to get this thing setup just so. But, I'm working my way through it.

This is the first picture that I was able to get from an old Audio Technica 150mlx cartridge that is mounted on my Technics table.

150 mlx 2.jpg

Just after I broke the cantilever from the body.

Cautionary tale: Friday night bourbon and small devices don't mix.

Yep. I cocked it up big time.

Since it's a moving magnet cartridge, I ordered a repacement stylus from LP Gear. It's a $338.00 lesson.

The cartridge is OOP.

My new Etna is in my safe waiting on new Avenger Reference TT with new Fat boy arm to come. I’m told I will have it in two weeks

I bought Analog Magic software and USB scope, smart tractor, I will be very careful when using scope and new tools to set up.

And no bourbon until after job is done

Thanks for learning for me

That's a beautiful TT. When setting up the cartridge, please, please, please be extremely gentle.

The cart I destroyed hasn't seen the light of day in a few years, but that doesn't take the sting out of the deal.

How did the damage happen? Maybe a bump from the new scope or loop?
