I use an MC152 with the MCD550 SACD player. No preamp needed, sounds awesome!

Ym2000,

What a beautiful space! Very inviting and elegant. For what it’s worth, I have both a C2300 and MA6600 setup in the same room with MC275 VI. Speakers are Cremona Auditor Ms. room dimensions are 12’x16’x8’. The MA6600 definitely controls the low end with more authority while still maintaining that luscious mids. To my ears, the C2300/MC275 is a better combo. No listening fatigue, just a glorious time listening. Enjoy the audio journey!

Thank you so much everyone for your help, opinion and advice! So much love and passion for Mcintosh!
I decided to go with C2600 and MC462 although MC275 was my favorite from the beginning. Final decision came after I changed my mind on speakers, going from Sonus Faber Guarneri Tradition to Serafino Tradition... Still need to fly and audition them though - probably will be WOM center in New York.
Now have to choose the rack!!!!

Default Question about efficient speakers and mc amps...

Wanting to purchase my first MC rig (used is all I can afford).

I have Khorns which I really like both sonically and visually.

My question is this..... Would I be able to tell the difference between a MC 452 and a MC 152 using a C47 pre for either amp with the khorns?

And....if theres a difference how discernable would it be??????

Thanks gents

45 - In my opinion, the Mc amp that would bring out the best in your K-horns is the MC275
