Sure. This is a Wyred4Sound integrated amp. It uses what they call class 'D' topology rather than class 'A' or 'AB' which is more typical in high end amps. Class D amps run cooler and are far more efficient than class A or AB. Because of the highly efficient use of energy, they can output more power in less space. Class D use has been growing and the technology has been getting better every year. It's not new, but only in the last few years has it become perfected to the point that it can compete with class A and AB for sound quality.

I've only had this amp for a short time. I purchased it because I wanted to see if the PMCs would benefit from more power. Although my previous amp was very powerful it had far less power than this amp (especially into a 4ohm load like these IB2s). To be honest, I did not expect to like this amp. I purchased it used and the price was very good so I went ahead and pulled the trigger. In fact, I was so sure it would not be a keeper that while I was waiting for the shipment to arrive I bought a pair of parasound JC1s which are very powerful class A/AB monoblocks (800 w/4ohms). But, getting back to this amp, it turned out to far exceed my expectations. The amps sounds superb with the PMC IB2s. The bass is exceptionally clean (maybe because of the high power and high damping factor). Very articulate and natural but with no boom or over ripeness. And the mids and highs are just spectacular without grain or glare. It's a wonderful pairing and a bargain of an amp. Not much to look at, so if you are into audio jewelry (and who isn't really), it's a loser on that front, but sound for pound it's a killer.

Congrats on the IB2's. One their best in their line up. When I owned them i had Sound Anchors and Star Audio work together for me to build the ultimate stand for the IB2's. The sound anchors was filled with Star Audio metal mixture, and drilled in caps and points into the Sound Anchor.
