I've listened to MPS-5 with Avalon Isis and the big Tenor monoblocks(I don't remember the cables). There was a comparison - the Playback Designs vs. Linn Sondek turntable. A man wanted to demonstrate the superiority of the vinyl over the digital sources and played some albums in vinyl, CDDA and SACD. The difference was like night and day. Like cold foggy night and warm sunny day. The MPS-5 was AWFUL! No matter what format was, it sounded veiled, congested and artificial. Just awful. And note, I am not an analog fan at all!

Hi friends,

I heard the MPS-5 sometimes with CTH-8550, and I liked the result. It seemed that the MPS-5 complemented the sound of darTZeel, and was using Zeel connection.

I'm thinking a lot about MPS-5 with the 8550, I think it would be an excellent combination. Although I am also thinking of Puccini + U-Clock.

What do you think?

Best regards,
Ricardo Nonato.

I listened to the MPS5 and the 8550 also ( they seem to always have the same importer in each country ) and felt in love with the MPS5. Stunning product.

Here in Brazil, the importer is Logical Design by Vlamir.

He represents Dali, MBL, Playback, Evolution Acoustics, darTZeel, Oyaide, Goldmund, among other...

ps: Are you french? My parents lived in Clermont-Ferrand / Puy-de-Dôme.

Friends,

at times I have heard the MPS-5, we were using XRCD and SACD, we have not tested audio files via computer with DSD. Anyone heard or tested the MPS-5 with native DSD files?

Best regards,
Ricardo Nonato.
