The alert today also created an internet access problem for many cell phones - no explanation.

Serge.......Click Bait title. The system is actually called the National Wireless Emergency Alert System, exactly like the Emergency Broadcast System allerts on radio and television stations. It is a good alert system for the US population in the event of a national emergency.
