Mark, the last time I was at AudioClassics they were using it to demo most of their speakers. Sounded great to me but I was only A and B'ing speakers and not amps. The amp is a beast, too big and heavy for me. I could feel back pain just looking at it.

I did like the idea of a local seller though, with no shipping hassles-worries involved. Choosing McIntosh is hard work! At least for me it is with limited funds. I don't think I'd mind seeing an MC2301 pair in my rack either! :-) (PS, hey Ivan, how many MC2301's you have in that storage unit? LOL I'll be right over! :-))

 Well i think the 602 is a nice amp, it has a diff sound than a modern 452 or the 601s, but back on topic I think under 5k is a decent price, i would not pay more than $4200 and I am not mocking it, just saying for that old of gear etc. best to you!

Truly no denying, that is one beautiful piece of equipment for sure!
And I'm sure its sound would more than satisfy me. Amazing too how they get 155 lbs of amp into what I feel is a relatively "compact" rack sized package. One would think this amp would be much longer in length front to rear.
