Thanks all. I do realize of course that the idea of "final upgrade" lasts only until the next must have component comes out. The idea of final anything hasn't worked for me in my other hobbies, so we'll see about this one.

If there was a bottom to this Rabbit Hole, I would have found it already.

Thanks for your post, Lawrence.

BTW, I also really enjoyed your photography. Nice to see some excellent B&W work from a talented photographer who understands light, composition, and gesture.

I've done a fair bit of pro-level work including credentialed motorsports PJ work, and commercial RE, Architectural, and product work.

Side question: how are you doing your B&W conversions? After many years of shooting with Canon 1D-series bodies, I now shoot with Fuji APS-C cameras and can shoot in Fuji's RAF format with Fujifim's film-based B&W profiles, e.g. Acros.

I do my raw edits in C1, and then finish in PS.

Here's just a couple examples (apologies, gang, for the brief thread digression):

Cheers,
-Stephen

Masterlu, I know how right you are. But that's the fun part.

Stephen,
Great shots especially of the GT3 RS. I'm a longtime Porsche guy. As to equipment, I've been a long time Leica shooter, and since I'm pretty color blind, I've been shooting their monochrome cameras since the M9 Monochrome. Currently shoot a M11 Mono and Q2 Mono. So no B&W conversions. The color shots on my website were with a SL2 using a variety of M Lenses. Sorry all for going a bit off topic here!

Larry

Hi Larry, thanks for the "fellow photographer" and camera info. And that's actually a GT2 RS, not a GT3, but I understand there's no easy way to distinguish the two from this photo. This photo actually did really well in my camera club image competition, as well. Got lucky as I shot it while on an RE assignment, of all things.

Apologies, gang, for the photography "side-digression". Cheers!

There is no bottom. Look at my new gear on order to verify. I'm already thinking about the new tuner for next year. The pre and CD player is An too.

Best

Such another fine system you have assembled and having a partner who shares the same audio is a plus. Also, having a dealer to go to to compare the speakers side by side. That is a unicorn of sorts these days. Looking forward to your review and pictures.

miner you're so right. My wife isn't really into audio per se, but I wanted her to listen to the different speakers, and she actually really enjoyed the experience. I would have struggled to decide between the Serafinos and Amatis if I didn't hear them both side by side. There is one other Sonus Faber dealer near me (but they're not a McIntosh dealer), but they didn't have either speaker, so when I contacted University Audio a couple of days before going there, they actually set up a listening room specifically for me. As much business that's done online (good if you know what you want), I value a local store I can support.
