Fathers Day this Weekend!

Missing my kids.

I know they'll call, and I know they're living their lives and so on and so forth, but I still miss their physical presence.

I miss my Dad, too. He died too young, and I never got to know him as an adult, so never got to let him know that I now understand why he made the decisions he made, and how much he meant to me.

Five minutes later the local kid came to visit and the out of state one called.

Still miss my Dad ..... But the day sure turned for the better.

My 16 year old son came back from boarding school and went to the cricket international game with me and then took me out for a fine dinner, paid for out of his own earnings. I can't think of many better ways of spending a day. Looking at him, I feel I'm not doing too bad a job of being a father !
