Default some of my exotics

In addition to fostering retired racing greyhounds I also enjoy keeping animals a little less 'mainstream'. I rescued reptiles for 15 years, and have had a lot of interesting finds. Most of those I just fed and housed until I could find a permanent home. The Sulcata tortoises are very large. Hard to tell from the pic, but that male is over 170 pounds and the female is about 100. They will both get larger. I have a second pair of similar size. The 2 pairs net me over 200 babies a year, which I trade to pet shops for 'stuff'. The chameleon is a female veiled. These are my favorite lizards, but sadly, the females are short lived. Finally, the Tegu was a rescue that I kept for 5 years and then placed with a local breeder. I have kept both Blue and Whites and Red's. Of all the large lizards available the Tegus have the best demeanor. Meaning you dont have to count your fingers every time your done handling them.

Very nice looking Sulcatas and love the Tegu! I kept Tegus for a while and did have to watch my fingers carefully especially if I kept the temperature high. Below 33 celsius they would be much more easily handled.
