Bart and Meta,

What a great experience. And thank you for sharing it with us in wonderful words and pictures.

Loved your comment that when you don’t shed a tear during a concert, you consider it as one that didn’t impress you.

Couldn’t agree more. I had the pleasure to hear the Dallas Symphony perform a few months ago a Mozart piano concerto I’m very familiar with. From the very first notes I was in tears.

Now to make that happen consistently in your listening room...well that’s the goal... as difficult as it is to accomplish it, and as unreachable as it sometimes seems.

But hearing you reach that level of emotional engagement via digital playback, albeit a multichannel system, with not necessarily the ultimate in electronics and cables, brings hope to the rest of us that it is reachable.

Bravo!

Now to look into that merging technologies DAC and clock!

Default Epilogue

When we were in the studio, I asked if the Merging NADAC accepts bits coming from a multi-channel silver disc.
I was thinking about myself, owner of several hundreds of them (SACDs, Blu-rays and DVD-audios).
The Ravenna input on the Merging may be the way it's going to be in the future, but I don't have the time nor do I wish to rip all my discs or buy the downloads again.

Bert admitted that the people who buy these devices indeed own large collections of physical media.
He vaguely mentioned something about a disc-drive that could be added in the future.

This week, I got the following pics of him, taken in München:

The future is now!
The disc-drive is already in the test phase.
A multi-channel version might be the last transport you ever buy...

That gives us the full stack: transport, clock, DAC/pre/streamer + power + clock:
