And here is the E-470 info: in Japanese............

http://www.hifine.nl/wp-content/uplo...14/08/e470.pdf

Still the classic power indicators instead of those of the new E-600.

If the DC-37 follows the same philosophy as the DP-720, the PCM signal is fed directly to the DAC, where the DSD(128) signal is fed to the delay brigade. This infers DSD64 is transcoded to DSD128 which is fine, whereas PCM is fed through as is.
The schematic on the DC-37 only shows DSD128 feeding into the delay brigade, the PCM path is missing. Maybe it's in Japanese somewhere.

It's great to see Accuphase developing a stand alone DAC with USB DSD. They must have found a way to control the stream from an unpredictable computer stream into a tightly controlled, clocked data stream. FPGA could certainly do that.

The dual transformers could be assumed to be for each channel, however could be, one for digital processing, the other for analog outs.

Google will not translate the websites for some reason, what are the specs on the new E470?

There may be a reason for that. The delay line for PCM signals was patented by GTE Audio, the manufacturer of the Trinity DAC back in 2003 (that is 2 years before the Accuphase DC-801 debuted, which also used this technology for DSD signals).

That explains that then, so hands off the PCM delay. Was the technique ever licensed, maybe buried in code by ESS/Brown/AD?

With the DC-37 out in the wild so to speak, the DC-901 needs a revamp, unfortunately, the price won't come down at all, but would fill a product for media servers like Aurender as well as transports such as the 900 and 720 with a HS-Link.

More information (in English) on the new Accuphase models can be found here:
Nieuws - Hi.Fine
The pdf's give you the most important changes compared to the previous models whereas a click on the pictures leads you to a series of pictures of each model.
