None of us are trying to get anyone to buy into what we hear, just throwing out our own impressions. I have a ton of well recorded high res along with standard redbook quality. I have been making many of my impressions using my Marantz blue ray player sending the info via coax, which is better in my system than optical, but not nearly as good as my rebuilt Mac Mini server.

All sound great, but the Mac Mini blows away the transport in every way and it's not even close, even in the same recordings using redbook from the Mac Mini.

Bill, that was a great interview. All bones the way I like to view or read about things. Charlie is just special and it shows. Look at Avalon, back in his day as well as what he's accomplishing at Ayre right now. Just crazy. This internal clock really is amazing. This is the reason they are punching way above their price points. I realize they can make something better and it's out of my personal league, but my QX5 just rocks. I heard the Brinkmann Nyquist this past weekend and it was outstanding, but it doesn't do nearly as much as this QX5 and honestly I want to get the Brinkmann into my room as I don't think it better's my DAC. I wasn't as familiar with the system I heard the Nyquist on this weekend, but I can say that I agree with Charlie that digital has caught up to vinyl in so many ways and surpassed it in many others.

I am about to list my barely used NOS Basis 1400 with Benz Glider and custom Gingko base and Aesthetix Rhea (rebuilt by Aesthetix's) rig along with all the platters as it's time for me to be only digital. It's easier for me with the MS and I love the sound. JMHO.
