Default Another embarrassing moment

Last night I put in a new CD I had just gotten, Nathan East - Reverence. My listening room was dark and I wasn't paying any attention. When I ejected the CD and turned on the lights to leave, I noticed I had left the speaker covers still on the speakers - not just the grill covers but the actual heavy duty speaker covers. I couldn't believe I did that and didn't even notice until I was done. My wife could hear the music from another room and thought it sounded fine. I bet the CD will sound even better with the covers off. In my own defense I wasn't critically listening but still can't believe what I did.

Just goes to show you the Stradivari with covers are better than many lesser speakers.

There are a few speakers that would surely benefit from covers muting their output, Strad's are definitely not one of them. Fun story.

Dan, no libation involved, so I don't have that excuse either.

Oh my Paul!

BTW - anything silly I have ever done in my room definitely had beverages to blame!

We all, or at least me, do stuff like that. A few months ago I bought the remastered Blue Ray Godfather trilogy, and one night I started watching the first one. Right away I thought this sounds awful and assumed it was poorly recorded when filmed. A little later, it just reeked and only the center channel had sound. I was about ready to stop watching and was shutting down the system when I realized I never turned on either amp for the front. Only the rears and center were powered. Duh!
