I am late on this thread but, I'm new around here. I am running a set of Legacy Focus original series. Besides me loving the sound out of them, the company istelf when I called them for information on the focus, even though I got them used, they offered me a lot of information over the phone. So besides great sound, the customer service I have received from them has been fantastic.

I have Legacy Signature IIIs in my office system. To me, in my office (approx 11x22), they sound great. I am running MS750 (as a source) through MX118 then to MEN220 that splits the signal (the Signature IIIs can be bi-amped) so that the bottom register goes through two MC2500s in mono mode (1000 watts per channel) and the upper register goes through two MC2255s in mono mode (500 watts per channel). I have to wait until "after hours" to crank them up in the office. I have 3000 sq feet (counting all rooms) in the office and the system will "rattle the doors" throughout the whole building! Especially with the MEN220 the sound is great. The MEN220 really brought the upper midrange into focus!

I realize that Legacy speakers do not have the "history" of some other more established lines, but I believe they deserve to be considered among the top rank.

However, I must admit that, for ultimate detail, I have Sennheiser HD600s running in "balanced" mode driven from the 8 ohm tap of an MC2205 (200 watts per channel). That combination REALLY reveals all the detail!

But - I can find no fault in the Signature IIIs.
They are great.

Thanks,
Jim

I just replaced my Mc LS 360's with a pair of Focus SE and could not be happier. Richer, more detailed sound with more seperation between the instruments. Clearer vocals as well. Th efficiency is around 95 db.

I concur with the customer service comments as well. A real person answers the phone with answers to any questions about their products.

Even though I said I'd ride my Mirages until they dropped, the Focus SE has always been my "fantasy" speaker. They're probably too much for my living room, but I did hear them at a NY Audio Show when it was in Brooklyn about four years back in the Audio Classics room, which was about the same size as my living room.

The Signatures might be a number 2, but at 48" I wish they were taller.

What are the dimensions of your room?
