I have a tracking number for my Venom HC from Ivan. It will be great to get it so I can nail down one more piece of my PC puzzle.

The question still comes what to do with my Elite-15PFi (currently a WW Stratus 7 is on it). A custom-length Venom HC doesn't seem worth the expense (my Furmans are next to each other; 1m is plenty). I could retire my phono preamp and use the Transparent HPPC on it, which is 1m, or buy another one and leave the phono preamp alone. And there's still a PS Audio Jewel AC on hand I can use.

I'll need to decide something at some point.

Anyone here uses IsoTek power cords? Are they good enough?

Not an expert statement here, but every review I've seen of IsoTek products is positive, power cords included.

Decision made: my phono preamp is disconnected, and its Transparent HPPC now connects the two Furmans. The SPR20i is now Venom HC all the way to the wall, with the cord I got from Ivan plus the 12 ft extension cord. I can't say I heard any difference in sound versus the WW connection prior, but I at least feel better having the heavier gauge Venom HCs in place.

The TT has a captive cord, so no change there. But being convinced of the benefit better PCs can have on components, I think that if I did change out my TT I'd look for something I could use an aftermarket cord on. I continue to be pleased with my HPPCs and they would be the prime candidate in such a case.

I received the March Music Direct catalog yesterday. Looking through it, in the Closeout section there was some Shunyata gear, including the Venom HC power cord. Without thinking, I ordered a 15A version one for my Furman Elite-15PFi. It's longer than I need at 1.75m, but the price was ridiculous so hard to resist.

But again, it was in the "Closeout" section. Is the Venom HC being discontinued? I've noted also that The Cable Company has only the 20A version. Is something up?

The new Venom is here.

This isn't about sound, but my ingrained sense of continuity. The new Venom HC will go on my Furman Elite-15PFi. Now, both of my Furmans will have the same PC. I can now move the Transparent HPPC there now somewhere else. Where, I don't know yet.

If I'm smart, I'll hold to the idea of winding down purchases like this; this should be the last year for these things so I can focus on saving and marshaling my financial forces.

That is one fine power cable, prepress. If you're satisfied with the sound of you pre and amps you might want to try the HPPC on your various sources. I'd even try it on your Pioneer Elite.

You have a great collection of power cables. I'm sure your system sounds excellent.

Cheers,

Scott

Thanks, it sounds better than before, to be sure. If I had a better room it would be even better.

Still thinking about what to do with the currently unused HPPC.

Default Audioquest Dragon Source Power Cords

Stepped up and bought a pair, to go with the Pass 260.8. Will take 4-6 weeks to ship.
