Default MX-R 20 incoming!

Happily, my not-yet-here KX-R20 will have company on the amplifier side of things. I am replacing my VX-5 (using Shunyata Anaconda PC) with a pair of MX-R 20's (with Shunyata Sigma HC Power Cords).

Will definitely post impressions after the gear arrives. I'm finally getting into high res downloads -- been using my QB-9 DSD for mainly Redbook CD ripping. I mainly listen to Golden Age Stereo Recordings, like Mercury Living Presence & RCA Living Stereo Classical Music. I have been more than impressed with the 176/24 downloads at HDtracks on these labels. Can't wait to hear them on the Ayre gear when it's all burned in.

I'll be placing the MX-R20's on an HRS Isolation Base. Ultimately, I'm considering two custom sized stands for each MX-R20. I've seen some nice pictures of ones Ayre had made for a recent show (each stand looked about 13"x21" which fits very nicely under each amp).

Any folks have an all-20 "R series" setup?

Will do. I hope the rumors are true about a digital source coming later this year; I'd love to have a component replace my QB-9 DSD and C-5xeMP. Both are outstanding, but it would be nice to have one digital source.

I am sure you will like the KXR20 and MXR20 I know I do . I have found the Burmester 100 phono works well with the Ayre gear. If analog is a big part of your life. Any way enjoy the 20s Ayre gets it right 99% of the time . I have been a fan of Ayre for many years now good value solidly built great sound. IMO

Congrats on a great setup, I have the K/MXR but not the 20 series, and they are so good, can't imagine what the 20 brings to the table, look forward to your impressions.Currently listening to "La Segunda, Sera una noche", just enthralled by the sound.

Wow! Congratulations. I heard the Alexia's a couple of weeks ago and was really impressed. I'm sure it will sound amazing with the Ayre reference gear. Definitely on your way to a world class system.
