"Best sound I've heard in my home". That's saying a lot considering you are coming from a MC452. Glad you like it so well.

Don't ask me how, but the Ref75 sounds better than my MC452 did. It even has more/better bass.

I believe that there is a lot to be said for synergy of brands. I have had a lot of different combinations of Mc/ARC/Wilson/Classe in my home while doing demos.

I was really surprised at how well the Classe went with the Ref5 preamp, also. I didn't care for the MC452 paired with the Ref5. There just was something "off" in that pairing. But if your starting point is knowing you want a Ref5, then the Ref75 pairs best with both the Ref5 and the Wilsons...hands down. I'm sure a Ref150 would be awesome as well, but funds were getting tight and I like the meters and didn't feel like I needed more watts.
