Isn't it interesting that we can read everyones errors but not catch our own. Humbling isn't it!

RE: "at"

An old joke:

a Harvard freshman asked a senior student: "Can you tell me where the library is at?"

The senior snubbed him, "At Harvard, we never end a sentence with a preposition."

The freshman had a second go: "Can you tell me where the library is at, azzhole?"

In the Old English, the D was pronounced, so the scholars kept it in the spelling, but since speech is easier for the common riff-raff to perform than writing, the lowest common denominator of people won the battle with the pronunciation.

Speech and pronunciation is unfortunately often driven by the less educated people who really do not know how to speak properly.

These annoy me at times:

"I seen"

"try and"

"I could care less"

the wrong choice of "to", "too" ( even "two"!)

Nothing here bothers me. I work at taking stress out of my life and part of it involves not letting stuff like this get to me. You know what I am saying bro. ;-)

The use of "not" in parentheses, as in "this is awesome (not!)" Among my favorite peeves are the misuse of "hopefully" instead of "I hope", and "gifting" instead of giving.
