James, Will an upgrade to current software solve this issue? How do I upgrade to current software? Tom

How is the card for the SP3 coming?

I am finally getting ready to install my SP3 which I bought last year.

How do I get the latest firmware?

Hi Chad

DSD has put a dent in the card as we are looking at options.

The latest software is available on line for download.

Thanks.

DSD would be great! That would be worth the wait.

If the SP3 can be updated to do multichannel DSD (SACD at least for multichannel) that is a big deal in my mind.

Mine too! DSD is an unavoidable need for music and marketing . Listeners are always interested in being up to date. Its in our DNA.
Whether or not it is better is not important, look at MP3, it is clearly not better and that hasn't stopped it from the lions share of the music sold. And USB, it is clearly, clearly not better than SPDIF, but is pushed its way to the interface of choice... How the hell did that happen?
So, it would be a shame if Bryston is not working on the solution of how to include DSD, and worse if the SP3 does not have the architecture to support it!

DSD over HDMI from the Oppo would be been great.

In some post else I read a remark by Stan: 'SP3 headphone output is meant for monitoring only'.

As much as I like the honesty by Stan I think it's a pity that Bryston didn't pay more attention to the headphone output. I had thought it would be a better one - which could made a separate headphone amplifier less needy.

You folks don't need to concentrate on what the SP3 does not have, but rather, what it does have which is great sound. If you want a swiss army knife component with everything, then get the Oppo BDP-105, but keep the negative assaults on the SP3 to yourselves as it was not designed a a swiss army knife component. Next, you want 11.2 audio. Maybe you need a Denon product.
