It's not that new anymore. It's been out for almost a year.

If I had not gone all Mcintosh for the home theater I would look at it.

It not the same, but I have the SR6003 set up as a processor with an Adcom 5 channel amp. The McIntosh MX119 blows it away in every ways. Save your money and get a Mx119.

i am all mcintosh, now, but I just want to add a blue ray, and really Im running out of hdmi, I have a mht-200 now, so i will use the amps in that to power my center and rears, and have the 8003 do the rest for movies.

I dont care about 2chnl because I run that with my 501,s and my c2300. I will still use my esoteric for cd playback. I was going to go with the New arcam myself, but when i thought about it, why spend that much on something just for blue ray play back. Though it is a really good unit.

I know I could of just got a good blue ray player and use the anglog, jacks with the mht, but I didnt want to spend alot on a blue ray player because I really love my esoteric dv60. I just figured this unit corrects a few issues I have, one it has the real audessy, has one of the best user formats, built really well and its so much more advanced then my mht. So now I will use them both together, this way I still keep all my mcintosh amps, while not paying out of the rear end to get new tech, that mcintosh has not yet put out.

so i am just looking for people that have this, and get their thoughts.

I have the AV8003 in combination with the MM8003. It's incredible. I really have no idea why anyone is comparing a moderately priced receiver like the SR6003 with an MX119. Furthermore, if blu-ray is what you want a new prepro for, I'd certainly tell you to look past the MX119. That should not even be on your shopping list at all.

Here's my system with the Marantz AV8003/MM8003 combo.

thats just what i was saying. I own alot of mcintosh gear, am a fan, but to be honest, Mcintosh is not for anything but Pre amps, and amps. They are way over priced for anything else and by the time they come out with something, it is already older techno.

I would not want to spend usless money on anything mcintosh for Blue ray. That is why, I was going with the 8003 from marantz. From what I have demo, this piece is IMO far above the rest in the price range, and only a little behind other units twice as much.

I am planing on still using my mcintosh mht-200 just for the amps and use the 8003 for its proces. for movies. Since my system is a complete two seprt systems for both HT and 2chn. I still use my c2300 and 501 for dedicated 2 chnl. I just also use the 501 for my main speakers during HT, I really only use the MHT to power my center and rears.

If your staying with 5.1 why bother upgrading at all ? To me the only purpose for you uprading is to get the new 7.1 codecs; if your staying with 5.1 I doubt you will notice any difference at all.
