Thank you. It was official at 10pm last night, per my birth certificate.
The one thing I did as far as celebrating was to have lunch with a friend I hadn't seen in three years. We talked over an Italian meal in midtown Manhattan. That was fun, the food was good. The restaurant was almost empty, due perhaps to the holiday as well as the time of day (2pm; we were there a bit over three hours). My attention must now turn to the apartment, as it's a mess (still not recovered from the new A/C installation). A friend from church wants to come help me with it, and because it seemed to mean something to her to do so, I agreed. I have turned such offers down in the past, believing I should take care of this myself, and if I'm not sure how I want to proceed I can't really give anyone else guidance as to how to be helpful. I still think that way. So I'm planning to work hard so she doesn't have anything to do when she arrives on Saturday. I also want that to include taking apart and dusting down the system (a half-day's job, perhaps). I'm pretty sure she's going to want to hear/watch something, and I've made enough progress with the room that the system's now accessible after over 3 months, but the shelves are gray with dust. I have the week off, so we'll see what I can do. In between, I have dinner with another friend on Thursday scheduled; we'd been trying to get together since May. I look forward to a fun time then as well. It'll be at a steak house, again in Manhattan. I'm also ruminating about one last gasp with the system in the form of an OLED TV and/or new equipment racks. Wallet's getting a bit thin now, and the holidays are coming, but it's nice to dream. A new Transparent Premium PC is in the works meantime, and it'll go on my C2300.

And to top off the week, my official birthday cake is waiting for Saturday—a chocolate cherry cheesecake from New York Texas Cheesecake. It arrived last week and is in the freezer. Can't wait. The slice of chocolate cake I had on Monday doesn't count.
 Now if I can just stay away from Tostitos chips when they're on sale . . .
