Some might prefer F1R1, but on a high resolution, state of the art system, the former filter sounds more natural."
Many thanks Jim and Bill.

I will have a K-03 in the house for Easter. I will be comparing it in my system to my existing player, a Cary Audio 306 SACD Professional. The Esoteric K-03 is a dealer demo unit and well run in. I am not sure right now who the victor will be – but I am sure that all the filter and up-sampling options are a PITA in undertaking such comparisons….

The Cary Audio 306 SACD Pro really benefits from up-sampling. It is possible to up-sample standard 44.1KHz Redbook to 96/128/384/512 and 768KHz and it is really interesting to observe the various merits of these. Cary like Esoteric wisely keeps DSD native. Both run 8 DAC’s in balanced parallel.

I have closely noted your comments and these settings will be first up on the batter’s box. Here’s hoping for a strike!

When I owned Cary there was no single answer as to what sounded best. For my most often played discs I used to keep a record of whether it sounded better at native, 96, 192, 384 etc.

Been streaming all day with the Jriver app old familiar music and listening with the HD 700s. MX150 set to pure stereo. I think I have all of the settings dialed in on the K-03, PC and Jriver to my optimal preferences.

I added a wireless keyboard - mouse and hdmi from the laptop to the my 73" Mitsubishi so I can sit back surf AA, play music from my recliner and drive all the gear wireless with the big screen to monitor. wow I love it..

Only thing missing is the better USB cable that is on the way.
(Hard to imagine it gets better)

at 320+ hours on the machine now It is like I am hearing details, effects in most every song for the 1st time, and the sound stage is so 3d in nature, separation impressive, most delicate of details as good as I think it can get.

I am so glad I purchased this machine. Thanks to all of you folks for the great reviews, these reviews not the specs helped my purchase decision. I trust all of you guys way more than any book, specs, or other reviews. The AA folks in my view are as honest and true, well educated etc .. may I can this a sport

and a special thank you to Ivan for the great price and service

Gilmour's guitar in Coming Back to Life on the Division Bell re-mastered is the most special spatial presentation I have heard.

To sum it up.

K-03 It is a Game Changer

Cool

OK that was ridiculous! I did not think it was going to make that much of a difference, I swear I did an A - B 4 times to compare the Belkin to the Wire World Silver USB.

It is like I added a sub woofer, well it actually brought back the bass the player has when listening to a SACD or a CD. For some reason the low path signals were dropping on the 15' el -cheapo cable and now not only are they back but I can play 96k and 192k files with seamless switching and no drop outs. The imaging, separation, what can I say MAGNIFICO!

OK I need to go to work, I am already over 1 hr late, I just can not stop listening to this thing.

Well wife and daughter flew out to go to a LA Dodger game so it is just me and the rig for the next 2 days WHOOHOO

Over 420 hours on the machine now and a quick update. it has a lot farther it seems over the past 100 hours than I would say it did on the 1st 100 hours.
