Default Clearaudio Quadro clamp
Got the Clearaudio Quadro Clamp based on Jeff's suggestion. Holy sh*t, this thing makes the table sound way better. Smoother mids, better bass definition Without the clamp the bass is full but doesn't come close to the definition and articulation it exhibits with the Quadro clamp. The midrange is silky smooth and intoxicating. I was playing Diana Krall "Quiet Nights" record I just cleaned when the package arrived. My son unpacks it and says here Dad, another toy for your table.. So I take the plastic one off, drop this beauty on, lower the cue and yikes, what a difference! This analog thing is crazy..... The clamp is nicely machined, hefty and is much easier to use than the plastic clamp that came with my table. Highly recommended. I'm sure it will work well with other tables as well.

Serge.......Does the Quadro Clamp literally clamp onto the spindle, or simply sit over the spindle putting additional weight on the album?

Another thing is that with the plastic clamp, I had to be careful to put it on just right since if overdone, it will "dish out" the record... The Quadro clamp simply drops on and the records are perfectly flat.

Nope just sits on top. No need to screw it. Just adds weight and probably some sort of resonance control since it does make the table sound much better. Here it is on my table.

What the clamp or the Statement? There was a guy recently who bought two of the Statements, one for his house and the other for his yacht. At $150k a pop. Rumor has it he also broke both stylii in $10k cartridges. Oooops...

The Quadro Clamp sure makes the freebie look cheap, almost embarrassing. I use a record clamp myself, and discovered a cleaner bottom and midrange playback. I think that the added weight on the vinyl couples the album to the platter which helps lower the resonances set up in the vinyl disc by the vibrating stylus as it tracks the grooves.

Well I did find good use for the plastic clamp, to hold the Feickert protractor down nice and tight.
