When I took a factory tour in late May, the Mc452 was still on the production lines. I was in Binghamton to pick up my 452, so I definitely would have taken notice if the Mc462 was mentioned. I find it interesting that my dealer didn't mention it either. I have pics of the tour if anyone is interested.

It does have Auto-Off feature, which works perfectly with my McIntosh preamp. It also has the Thermal Trak output transistors. A wonderful amplifier and a tremendous upgrade from two Mc2205s.
Mcintosh just might start pricing the Mc452 at a bargain level due to these new cosmetic differences(?)

Keep dreaming of those “bargain level” prices on the MC452.

is there any appreciable difference besides a new model name to have a price increase?

My dealer says MC452 are back ordered, not much of a chance for price reduction.
