I would like to know what happened here. I am having the same problem and was given the same suggestion from McIntosh. I did try and update my c2500 but my pc could not find it. There is obviously something else wrong here.

Linda, which problem are you referring to, the DAC randomly cutting out?

Please advice how do you burn in new preamp and how long will it take to get the sound right again.

Hey guys

Anybody familiar with performing firmware upgrades on the C2500? I understand you need a PC running an Intel processor. Besides that, what else do I need? Is it fairly easy to do the upgrades yourself or should I just take it into the dealer?

Thanks guys

My dealer did update firmware for me.

I am not sure if you can do it yourself because firmware update must have McIntosh's password to get the update files from McIntosh's website.

I emailed McIntosh and they said I could do it myself by downloading the files to a Intel Windows machine but not much else. Would be nice if they had a step by step how to pdf document before we start downloading stuff
